The New Coach: Happy Moment

From sixth grade to my sophomore year in high school, i had the worst of luck with my basketball coaches. With the exception of eighth grade, we always had more losses than wins in a season. Soon after my basketball season ended last year, my sophomore year, I got the best news a teenage athlete could ever receive. In the announcements, I heard that there was going to be a meeting after school to meet the new girls' varsity basketball coach. This was music to my ears. The word spread like wild fire and the meeting had arrived. No one knew what to expect. When we got to the classroom where the meeting was being held, we were greeted by a laid back man. He had introduced himself as Coach Bradley, asked for our names, and began the meeting. It was slightly intimidating because no one knew what his expectations of us would be. He was very right-to-the-point and straight forward about what he expected out of us, which made me and my teammates extremely excited about participation in summer league 2010. We got right into practice later that week and learned that he was going to be a really good coach after all. This could lead to winning season the coming up school year and I couldn't be more excited.
