'Scary/Fun' Encounter

It was the last night we would be camping on our annual trip to Bucks Lake. My friends and I decided that we would take a 'journey' down to the boat ramp with no flash lights, but we brought my dog Coby, which I guess you can say was cheating. The boat ramp was a good mile from where our campsite was, so we began walking in the dark cold night, with the trees around us. While we were walking, my friend decided to tell us about a scary movie she had seen, I can't remember what the name was, but from what she had explained, it was about people going crazy and killing themselves. That didn't worry me at first, because we walking down the road, with no people in sight. It took about 10 minutes of walking to arrive at the boat ramp, which had a good amount of light from the moon so we could see our surroundings, but couldn't see too far into the dense black forest. As we sat down and watched the stars, told stories, and complained about school we heard footsteps coming from down the road. At first we thought it was one of our parents coming to sneak up on us, when we realized it was just a young adult walking by himself. I didn't think much of it until he walked straight into the forest, no paths, no signs, nothing indicating that he was going any certain direction, it was very much like a horror movie. After gossiping about the mysterious young man, a teal blue run-down ford truck began driving towards our direction, so we decided to move out of the way, just in case the driver could not see us. The truck took an alternative route around us, and started heading down the boat ramp, I figured he was going to turn around and leave, when suddenly the truck was driving straight into the water. The truck drove until the two front tires were halfway underwater, and suddenly stopped. My friends and I looked at one another and turned to walk away, when the truck went into reverse, and back to drive, and then towards us. My first instinct, RUN. I grabbed Coby's leash and when I started my sprint he was right with me, and soon after my friends were running with me. It was exhilarating and I couldn't help but laugh because I almost knew I was in no danger. We reached a corner where we could stop off in the forest and wait for the truck to pass. We ran through the forest, stepping on all kinds of plants, tripping over logs, and then stood behind a tree and waited. When the truck passed I remember one of my friends was 'seriously' scared, I don't know if she was lying or not, but to me it was very fun, and it was a little bit scary, but I knew nothing bad would happen. In the end, we all lived.

  1. Dear Joey :)

I litterally laughed while reading this because I can hear you telling this story to me :) The way you wrote this made me really wanting to know what is going to happen next. You should write mystery novels! You kept me interested. I'm glad you guys are still alive too! I would die if something ever happened to you. Anyway back to english, i loved how you built up the suspense in detail. You didn't leave anything out. I want to know why that guy was doing that.. What a crazy person. Anyway, see you tomorrow :)

    Love (sister monster),
