Welcome to Kimball High's 2010-2011 blog for AP English. I hope your summer is off to a good start and you are finding time to relax in the two months or so that we have off.
A little bit about the blog, your first entry is due by June 30th. Things to consider, if you were in AP, or CP, you spent a lot of time looking at literary devices, character interaction, and analyzing plot and theme. These are all good things to write about. Something to consider, much of your essay will be looking at character interaction and symbols in To Kill a Mockingbird. This would be a good time to test out some of your ideas and get some feedback from your fellow classmates.
As for feedback, comment on your classmates pages. Simple comments such as, "I like this," or "you rock" are not good comments to leave. Really give your comment some thought as to the content, whether you agree or disagree and why.
Lastly, when making posts to this blog, make sure your posts have to do with AP. I already deleted one post that someone put about his/her hair. This is a literary blog, something we will be revisiting again and again throughout the year. My hope is that by the end of the school year we will have an online archive of discussions and thoughts from the entire year. It would be an incredible database of information especially as the AP test approaches.
Again, have a great summer, happy blogging and if you have questions feel free to contact me with the information provided on the AP summer assignment handout.
Hi Mr. Soeth (: Just a quick question.. Would you rather our blog entries be a collection of a variety of our thoughts like those that people had already posted, or should they focus on a single topic at a time like the more common type of blog entry on blogspot and other sites?
